Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, interceding on behalf of Steven Bobb. We lift up his concern regarding the prayers offered to Mary and statues of saints by some Catholics. We ask that you would open their hearts and minds to the truth of your Word and lead them away from any form of idolatry.
Lord, we also pray for those who have statues of Buddha on their lawns, believing it will bring growth to their gardens. We ask that you would reveal to them the futility of placing their trust in inanimate objects and redirect their focus to you, the one true God. Help them to understand that idols can neither see, hear, nor speak, and that true growth and blessings come from you alone.
We are reminded of the words in Revelation 9:20, where it says, "The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk." Lord, we pray for a turning away from idolatry and a turning towards you, the living God.
In Jesus' name, we ask for your guidance and wisdom to be upon those who are caught in the snare of idol worship. May they come to know the truth of your Word and experience the freedom that comes from worshiping you alone. Amen.
