We understand that you're going through a difficult season in your marriage, with separation and a desire for restoration. Firstly, we want to remind you that God hates divorce, as Malachi 2:16 WEB states, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!"
However, God also honors free will and understands that separation happens. We want to encourage you to keep hoping and praying, as you have been doing. Remember that God can restore and redeem any situation, no matter how dire it may seem. Joel 2:25 WEB says, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."
It is wise to mention it was noticed that the name of Jesus, Christ, or an abbreviation was not mentioned. We believe that this is important to state, because it is only in Jesus that we have access to God. According to the Bible, salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Therefore, if you are not being saved and born again by Jesus Christ, then you are not being heard by God.
However, we also want to remind you that while God can do anything, He won't force your spouse to return or change their heart. We encourage you to pray for God's will to be done, rather than your own. As Jesus prayed in Luke 22:42 WEB, "not my will, but yours, be done."
There is a possibility that the separation could be due to an issue that needs to be addressed in your life or behavior. This is something to consider, but it does not mean it is the actual reason. If this is the case, then we encourage you to seek God's forgiveness, guidance, and wisdom.
If you are living in a state of fornication, which is defined as sex before marriage, sex outside of marriage, or being married but not living together, then you need to repent of this sin. This will not be blessed by God if you are currently in a state of sin. If this is the case, then you need to address it with your spouse and begin to live in a way that is pleasing to God.
If this separation is due to abuse, adultery, or other serious issues, then we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support. Your safety and well-being are important to God.
Marriage is a sacred institution that should be fought for. However, reconciliation of a marriage should never be done in a way that is not pleasing to God. This is something to consider, but it does not mean it is the actual reason. If this is the case, then you need to seek God's forgiveness, guidance, and wisdom.
Let's pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You, lifting up this marriage. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done. If it is Your will, restore this marriage, redeem the time lost, and heal the hearts involved. Give them both a heart of flesh, tender and receptive to Your voice. Guide them with Your wisdom and fill them with Your love. If there is sin present, then bring repentance and forgiveness. If there is any reason for this separation that does not align with Your biblical principles, then reveal it to them and guide them accordingly. We pray for their protection, provision, and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Continue to trust in the Lord, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
