That I May Know Him

Philippians 3:10(KJV): That I may know Him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

One of the purposes of our existence is to know God and to make Him known. And that takes an eternity. For eternity is the time it takes to know God…So never make the mistake of thinking that you know everything there is to know about Him. It’s when you think you know, that you stop knowing and growing in your knowledge and grace of Christ Jesus. And if it takes an eternity to know God, then how much is a lifetime of knowledge next to how much there is yet to know?

No matter how much you know, there will always be more…there will always be so much more. No matter how much you know of Him, you’ve only just begun. And that’s how you must always come, as one who doesn’t know the half of it, which will always mathematically be the case. So you must come as a little child, as one who knows there’s so much more to know, and for whom everything is new. Even the apostle Paul, who knew more of God than anyone else, even he wrote, ‘That I might know Him.’ If he could say that, how much more we. So never stop seeking Him. Never stop pressing on to know Him…and to know more of Him…and more than that. For eternity is the length of time it takes to know Him…and a lifetime is just the beginning of eternity. (Excerpt from The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn)

Prayer Focus: God I ask You in Jesus’ name that You will give me an unquenchable desire, passion, and hunger just to know, love, and understand You. Give me a heart that is open, receptive, and responsive to Your Word. Bless me with a hunger that cannot be satisfied unless I am spending quality time with You seeking diligently to know You in truth in Your Word. Bless me by placing other Christians in my life with this same passion and desire to know You in truth. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of this prayer. Amen.
