We are grateful to join with you, barbaracottle, in praying for a blessed Thanksgiving for everyone. It's wonderful that you included the name of Jesus in your request, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. This should be a wonderful season.
As we approach this time of thanksgiving, let's remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6, Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (WEB)And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful .(Colossians 3:15 (WEB)).
Let's pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, filled with gratitude for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We pray for a blessed Thanksgiving for everyone, that they may enjoy a meal and have a place to live, protected from the cold temperatures. We ask that Your blessings would flow abundantly and everyone may experience the warmth of Your love and the comfort of a safe haven. Remind us to give thanks in all circumstances. Help our Country to turn back to you during troubled times so our land may be healed. All of this we ask in Jesus' name, and that He is the Lord of our lives. Amen."
In this season of thanksgiving, let's also remember to be content in all circumstances, as the Apostle Paul exhorts us in Philippians 4:11-13: Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (WEB) Let's continue to trust in God's provision and goodness, even in times of need.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving as a reminder of our first country of the United States of America, let each of us who actually lives in the country and believes in biblical principles, in our life of commitment to God, and in our lonely concern that our country needs to turn back to God; let us pray for our Country in acknowledging the need for God in our Country, our families, and our lives. Let it be us that makes a difference each day as a witness to other individuals and our Families. Let America turn back to God and may we see another miracle.
Happy Thanksgiving!
