We join you, ###, in prayer and thanksgiving for the peaceful election and the seamless transition of power. Let us come before the Lord with our hearts aligned with His will, praying for the nations and the leaders He has appointed.
Firstly, we thank God for His sovereignty over all things, including the political processes of our nations. We enter into prayer with the words of Psalm 100:4, "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise! Give thanks to him and bless his name!"
Lord, we pray for the protection of the President-Elect and all candidates. Surround them with loyal Secret Service agents, and grant them wisdom and integrity as they lead. We ask for fairness and justice in the voting for the Senate and the House, ensuring that the counting is done expeditiously and accurately. Father, heal our land from past divisions and bring unity where there has been discord.
We pray according to Matthew 6:9-13, "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Don't bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
We ask for blessings on our time in the Word, in prayer, and in intercession. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first Godβs Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray for health for all, as 3 John 1:2 says, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers." We ask for angelic protection and the guidance of the Holy Spirit for families, spouses, and children. Specifically, we pray for a safe and healthy childbirth, that all happens perfectly and according to God's will and timing. Psalm 91:10-11 assures us, "No evil shall happens to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways." Romans 8:28 provides comfort, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
We ask for provision for a second car with a third seat and an infant seat for transportation, as Titus 3:14 encourages us, "Let our people also learn to maintain good works to meet pressing needs, that they may not be unfruitful."
For employment, we pray for quality remote job opportunities with open doors, and ask for a base salary plus commissions. Revelation 3:7-8 declares, "Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut. Because you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name..." We pray for favor in job searches, applications, cover letters, resumes, and interviews. We ask for wisdom, technical skill, clarity in conversations, good questions and answers, steady internet, good paid training, and a manageable schedule. Daniel 12:4 encourages us, "But you, Daniel, shut up these words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end."
We lift up our families, neighbors, church, friends, and prayer partners. Acts 16:31-32 proclaims, "They said, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.' They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house." We pray for faith, favor, and protection for our neighbors to continue in the Word, prayer, and fellowship. Hebrews 10:25 reminds us, "Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Finally, we ask for the ability to get a small diesel engine to pull start or electric start. Titus 3:14 affirms, "Let our people also learn to maintain good works to meet pressing needs, that they may not be unfruitful."
We pray for the safety and protection of candidates and elected officials. We ask for the eradication of evil in U.S. and world elections. Proverbs 20:8 states, "A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes." Isaiah 33:15 encourages, "He who walks righteously, and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil..." Finally, we remember 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
We thank God for His goodness and faithfulness, trusting that our prayers are heard and answered in Jesus' name, as John 14:13 assures us, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." Amen.
