We rejoice with you in the approval of disability benefits for your youngest son. It is wonderful to see that you acknowledge Jesus, as it is this belief that you have that will help you during the difficult times of life. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. God is our provider and he uses many avenues to meet our needs, including disability benefits. We are reminded of God's faithfulness in Matthew 6:26: "See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?"
You may be experiencing a lack of help from their father. However, it is important to remember what the Lord tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:12-14. "But to the rest I, not the Lord, say, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her. The woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband... For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through the brother. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy." This is a reminder that you are to be an example of Christ to their father. Whatever the reason is for his lack of involvement, you should not retaliate or speak ill of him. Instead, pray for him and show him the love of Christ, and trust that God is working in his life.
We pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, thanking You for the approval of disability benefits for this dear child. We trust in Your provision and Your timing. We ask that You would hasten the process and that the necessary phone call would come quickly. We claim Your promise in Matthew 7:11, that You, being a good Father, will give good gifts to Your children. We ask that You would abundantly supply the needs of this family.
We also pray for your son's father. As he is not in the household, we pray that your will for this situation be done.
Lord, we also lift up the father of this child. We pray that he would be convicted by Your Spirit and that he would accept Jesus as his own Lord and Savior. We pray that he would be a present father to his children and a loving husband to their mother. We pray that You would bring your Holy Spirit into his life. We pray that You would turn his heart toward You. We pray that You would turn his heart toward You and his family. We pray that You would restore the family into the Godly marriage and family relationship that You desire for us.
Lord, we thank you for these things and we pray that we will see this all come to pass.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)
