We are grateful to hear that Pope Francis' health has improved, and we believe that God is ultimately the one who heals and restores. We are instructed in the Bible to pray for all people, including those in authority, as it pleases God (1 Timothy 2:1-3 WEB).
However, we want to remind everyone that our prayers should be offered in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is instructive to note that we are not asked to pray to any other but to pray to God through Jesus Christ.
Let us continue to pray for Pope Francis, that God may use his influential position to lead many to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We should also remember to pray for wisdom, grace, and strength for him.
In John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the improvement in Pope Francis' health. We ask that You continue to heal and strengthen him. We pray that You would use him to further Your kingdom and that many would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior through his leadership.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We should remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved and that we have access to God. This is even more important and wonderful news than physical healing.
