We understand that you're facing a complex and challenging situation involving your family's safety and your marriage. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father, and it is only through His work on the cross that we can be saved. For there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved. Lamentations 3:26 tells us it is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.
We would like to address these issues as a whole. We believe that God is a God of order. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says that God is not the author of confusion. This is not to minimize the danger of terrorists nor to try and trivialize the pain of being targeted but rather to give an overview of the situation so that we can more fully understand how to pray and respond to each issue. It appears that there is reason to believe that there may be an inappropriate relationship between your wife and father. The blame for this is being placed on wild animals and terrorists. The main issues here are personal safety, marital fidelity, and parental honor.
Firstly, let's address the issue of safety. We need to recognize that God does not always prevent bad things from happening. While we live in a world that is cursed by sin there will be suffering. However, even in the midst of trials God will be with us and never forsake us. In Deuteronomy 31:6 we are told to be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for Yahweh your God is he who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. When faced with trials we need to understand that God is sovereign. When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. We are also instructed in Matthew 10:23 When they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.
Next let's look at the sanctity of marriage. Marriage is a covenant between a man, a woman, and God. The sanctity of this covenant is very important to God. There are many verses that speak to the importance of remaining faithful in marriage. Ephesians 5:31 tells us for this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. And the two will become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
Thirdly, we need to address the honor of parents. The bible tells us in Exodus 20:12 to honor our father and mother. This is so important that it is listed as one of the ten commandments. The bible does not qualify this honor based upon the parents actions. This honor is based solely upon their position as a parent. However, this does not mean that your father is not accountable for his actions. If there has been a violation of his marriage covenant or your marriage covenant then he will be held accountable by God. When we honor our parents we are blessed by God. There are several verses that tell us to honor our parents and that our days will be long in the land that God gives us.
It is very important that we remain faithful to God in our marriages and in our families. We need to be willing to forgive those who may have wronged us. However, forgiveness does not mean that we need to allow ourselves or others to be subject to harm. As we pray for God's divine protection for your family, we also pray that He will work in the hearts of your wife and your father. We pray that they will turn away from any sin and turn their hearts toward God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is facing a complex and challenging situation. We ask, Lord, that You extend Your divine protection over his family, keeping them safe from any threats or harm.
We also pray for his marriage, Lord. We ask that You soften his wife's heart and draw her close to You and to her husband. Help them to remain faithful to their marriage covenant and to You, Lord.
Father, we also lift up the relationship between our brother and his father. We pray that any wrongdoing will be brought to light and that hearts will be turned toward You. We ask for the healing of these relationships, Lord, and for the love and grace of Christ to be poured out.
We pray for clarity, strength, forgiveness, understanding, and wisdom for our brother. We pray for peace for the family and for the trust to be rebuilt.
Finally, Lord, we pray for the terrorist threats. We pray that those who seek to do harm will be brought to justice and that their hearts will be turned toward You.
We ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the study of God's Word. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. We encourage you to seek godly counsel and the support of your local church community during this time.
