We understand that you are going through a deeply painful time, and we want you to know that we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging that God is in control and for seeking His peace, protection, and healing. It is important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
Regarding your marriage, we hear your pain and frustration. It is clear that there has been a breach of trust, and it is important to address this with biblical principles. Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman, and God (Mark 10:6-9 WEB). Adultery is a serious sin that God hates (Malachi 2:14-16 WEB), and it is a valid reason for divorce according to the words of Jesus, "I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery" (Matthew 19:9 WEB).
However, God's heart is for reconciliation and redemption. He can heal and restore even the most broken situations (Joel 2:25 WEB). It is commendable that you have done all you could for your marriage and have kept your part of the covenant. Remember, God sees your faithfulness and He will honor it.
We encourage you to continue praying for your husband and your marriage, not because he deserves it, but because God can work miracles when we pray. Jesus taught us to love and pray for those who mistreat us (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This does not mean you should accept or tolerate sinful behavior, but rather, trust God to bring justice and restoration.
Here is our prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is hurting and in need of Your comfort. Lord, she has been faithful to her marriage covenant, and we ask that You would honor her faithfulness. Bring healing to her heart, peace to her mind, and joy to her life.
Lord, we also pray for her husband. Convict his heart, Lord, and bring him to true repentance. Restore their marriage, Lord, if it is Your will, and make it a testimony of Your redeeming power.
Give her the strength to forgive, not because it is easy, but because You command it. Help her to trust in You, even in this difficult time.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to surround yourself with a supportive community of believers. Seek godly counsel and wisdom from those who can help guide you through this difficult time. Remember, God is always with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB).
