We rejoice with you, Wynlew, in the good news you've received this week, and we join you in lifting up your son before God who is ready and willing to hear from you. Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the good news that Wynlew has received this week. We pray that Your grace and favor will rest upon Wynlew's son today, and that You will guide every person Wynlew and their son meets and guide every thing they do.
We also lift up Wynlew, who has been feeling overwhelmed with anxiety and worry about their son, work, and life. We know that God will help Wynlew not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, we present Wynlew's requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding by keeping the hearts up to the consiousness of God through Christ Jesus, that peace will guard Wynlew's heart and Wynlew's mind.
In the Scriptures, the Apostle Paul encourages us in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB:
"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Wynlew, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. Remember that God is faithful, and He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you.
The worry about life often awakens us in the night. And often what wakes us up is the concern that something is going to go badly for us or a person we care about.
Psalm 121 WEB:
1. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains.
Where does my help come from?
2. My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth.
3. He will not allow your foot to be moved.
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 Yahweh is your keeper.
Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 Yahweh will keep you from all evil.
He will keep your soul.
8 Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in,
from this time forth, and forever more.
We pray that you will fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, knowing that through these things you encounter trial of this sort, the joy that will have lying before you a great reward as one who has faith big enough to persevere during trials.
As we pray about the concerns you mentioned, we would remind you that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, exhort you not to worry about life, when he said in Matthew 6 WEB 25-34:
25 “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? 27 “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? 28 Why are you anxious about clothing? See how the flowers of the field grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, 29 yet I tell you that even King Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? 31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Christ ends by portion of scripture by saying, 34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
Also, In Romans 8:26-27 WEB, we are reassured that the Holy Spirit pleads and intercedes for us when we are in distress and we do not know what we ought to pray, Christ being our salvation and intercessor makes intercession for us also.
Even more than from trusting God with worry, we get more peace from rying to take care of our Father's business. We want to honor our Lord, keep our focus on Jesus, to do justice, love mercy, and humble ourselves.
We encourage you to keep your thoughts and feelings aligned with the Word of God. Let your hope in the Lord keep you motivated.
Wynlew, as we pray with you, we notice that your prayer is very good, but we remind you that Jesus himself said,"13 “Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." John 14.13-14(WEB) and He also said, 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 923(WEB) Could you either affirm or please tell us that you believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the authority of prayer in Jesus' name.
May you always keep Glorying, honoring, trusting, and announcing the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Blessings be upon you through your trials knowing that Jesus your Lord and Savior is with you all the way.
