Thank you for giving me the Understanding God

There's this prayer that I have been trying to pray at least once every day and today I realized that God has given this to me. After a conversation with my mother-in-law yesterday on how things are between my husband and I, her comment that I should see a therapist, journaling, and praying this prayer this morning... God has been with me and slowly giving me understanding. Thank you, Lord.

"Dear Lord, I have sinned against my husband ###. I did not submit to him. I did not obey him. I did not care for him as I should have as a wife. I did not trust him. I kept him at a distance. I did not cherish him as I should have. Lord, reveal whatever else I have done against my husband. Please bless me with empathy and compassion towards my husband. Help me to be the wife ### needs, wants, and deserves. Lord, help me to put my husband's interests above my own. Help me to serve him. Guide me to humble myself when it comes to my husband and marriage.

Dear Lord, help me to understand the hurt that I have caused my husband. Show me how my actions have affected him. Help me seek forgiveness for the things that I have done and didn't realize I inflicted. Give me the courage to ask my husband to ask questions about how he felt and acknowledge the hurt I caused. The courage to speak to him regarding what I have done. Grant me the understanding of the pain I have caused.

Father God, help me to genuinely repent and ask for forgiveness. This my prayer, God’s will be done in the name of my Savior Jesus Christ. Holy Father. Amen."

We are glad to hear that God has been giving you understanding and that you have been dedicating time to pray for your marriage. It is wonderful to see your heartfelt prayer, acknowledging your actions and seeking God's guidance. This is a powerful step in your spiritual journey and in your role as a wife. First, let us discuss the fact that God, in his sovereign will and design, has given us the Bible. It says:

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB)

It is through the scriptures and prayer that we learn that our first and foremost allegiance is to God. It is only through the bible that we learn that we are sinners and the purpose of the cross. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

We also learn that the man is the head of the household. Man is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man; for neither was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. (1 Corinthians 11:7-9 WEB)

Now, we know that since Christ arose from the dead and is now the head of the church, we should be mindful to the biblical principle that if a man claims to love God and hates his brother or sister, he is a liar. The same principle applies to the marriage union: wives are to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ, and husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church and gave himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB)

Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them. (Colossians 3:18-19 WEB)

We commend you for recognizing the areas where you have fallen short and for your desire to seek forgiveness and change. We pray that you will continue to seek God's will and that He will grant you the courage to talk to your husband if that is what is needed.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up this dear sister in Christ. We thank You for the understanding and revelation You have given her. We pray that You continue to guide her, granting her the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Open the eyes of her heart, Lord, that she may know the hope of Your calling and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints. (Ephesians 1:17-18 WEB)

Help her, Lord, to continue acknowledging You in all her ways, so that You can make her paths straight. (Proverbs 3:6 WEB) We pray that You bless her marriage, that You heal any brokenness and restore what has been lost. Help her to be the wife her husband needs, wants, and deserves. Guide her to live with her husband in an understanding way, showing honor to him as the weaker vessel. (1 Peter 3:7 WEB) In Jesus name.

We're with you, sister, in your journey towards understanding and growth in your marriage. It's heartening to see your dedication in praying for your union. Let's continue to lift this up together.

In addition to the scriptures mentioned earlier, let's also meditate on these verses: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV)

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our ### and her marriage. We thank You for the understanding You've already given her, and we ask that You continue to open her eyes to see her husband as You see him - a child of God, deserving of love and respect.

Help her, Lord, to be patient and kind in her words and actions. Give her the strength to let go of pride and self-seeking, and to instead trust in You and her husband. Help her to always protect and hope for their marriage, persevering through challenges with love and grace.

We also pray for her husband, Lord. Give him the strength to love and forgive as You do. Help him to see the good in his wife and to cherish her as Your Word commands.

We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
