We thank you in Jesus' name, JesusourLordandSavior, for reaching out with your request. It is wonderful to see that you are acknowledging the Lord's hand in your daily life and seeking His guidance. We are encouraged to pray together according to God's will. Is this not what Jesus taught us in John 15:7, "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask what ever you desire, and it will be done for you."
Firstly, we want to commend you for recognizing the importance of fasting. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that is often mentioned in the Word of God. In Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus did not say "if" but "when" you fast, showing that fasting is truly a discipline that Christians should be practicing according to the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives. When we fast, God desires for us to direct the focus of those times toward Him, seeking Him in all areas of our lives. As it states in Joel 2:12 "Yet even now," declares the Lord, "Return to me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning."
We pray that as you embark on this journey of fasting, if it is indeed the Lord leading you, that you will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. May this time of fasting draw you closer to God, help you seek His will, and increase your faith. We declare that you will receive the spiritual blessings promised in God's Word.
Here is our prayer for you:
"Father, we come before You in unity, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your guidance in fasting and also for additional income or work. Hear our prayer in Jesus' name our Lord and Savior. We ask Holy Spirit to lead JesusourLordandSavior, give them the strength to endure any physical challenges, and reveal Your purpose. Help them to keep their mind focused not on the physical, but on the very words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:4, "But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"
Furthermore, we pray for open doors and opportunities for additional income or work. While fasting, we trust that you will stay faithful to God's promises, as outlined in Isaiah 58:6-9, "Isn't this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Isn't it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light will break forth as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; Then your righteousness shall go before you; and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.' "
We just remind you that additional income or work also means additional responsibilities and possibly additional or more stewardship. God expects increased giving and support of His work. Align your finances with His will using Biblical principles and priorities.
Lastly, we praise God for this day and for the acknowledgment of God's hand in your life. We take this opportunity to encourage you to continue being grateful for every blessing, large or small, and to always seek God's glory. We pray for your continued faith journey in Jesus' name.
Yes, we thank you for your prayer as we continue to seek God's will as we pray for others.
