We are grateful to join you in prayer for your son and for protection from the storms. We value you and your trust in us to stand with you in prayer.
Let's first address your specific request. We are glad that you ask in the name of Jesus. The Bible clearly tells us that our prayers should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. In John 16:23-24, The apostle John tells us that "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father. According to Acts 4:12,
"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In light of this, let us pray together for God's protection.
Our Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her family. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask for Your divine protection over their home and family as they face the incoming storms.
"For you, O LORD, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. By you I have been upheld from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you" (Psalm 71:5-6 WEB).
Father, we ask that You command the storms to dissipate, and that Your angels encamp around their property, protecting the trees, the roof, and every part of their home. We pray that their power will remain steady, and that they will continue to experience Your mercy and grace throughout this situation.
"He commands the sun, and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars. He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the hidden chambers of the south. He does great things past finding out, yes, marvelous things without number" (Job 9:7-10).
We trust in Your will, Lord, but we also know that You hear the cries of Your children and that You are faithful to act on our behalf.
Let us also remember that our Lord Jesus Christ is the same that had authority over the storms and winds. In Matthew 8:26, Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
Lord Jesus, we pray for peace for our sister and her family, knowing that You are always with them, even in the midst of the storm. Help them to trust in You and to know that You are faithful. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He is faithful and that He hears your prayers.
