Dexter2020, we are grateful for your prayer request and your reflection on the concept of robbing God. It is essential to understand what God requires of us in His Word. We appreciate your realization that it goes beyond mere tithes and offerings. Let us explore this together.
First, consider the words of Malachi 3:8-9, "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me! But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, even this whole nation."
Indeed, tithes and offerings are part of our commitment to God, but there is more to it. God desires our time and our hearts dedicated to Him and to others. Spending time with people in dire situations is not a waste but an opportunity to show God's love and compassion. As it is written in James 1:27, "Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."
We must also remember that our relationship with God is paramount, and doing good works without acknowledging Him misses the mark. If we do not explicitly ask in the name of Jesus Christ, we may not be aligning with His will. As Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And in John 14:13-14, He assures us, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for opening Dexter2020's eyes to see that there is more to serving You than just tithes. Help him, Lord, to find the balance between giving financially and giving of his time to those in need. May he be a vessel of Your love and compassion, always remembering to do all things in the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. May he draw closer to You, committing his ways to Your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Dexter2020, continue to seek God's face and His will. May your understanding of what it means to give to God and others deepen daily. Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can be saved. Keep your focus on Him, and all else will fall into place.
