Testimony (I was homeless for two years)

So when I was ### I got into new age Christianity real bad. I did tarot, spells, you name it I probably did it or thought about doing it. And since then the Lord definitely showed me why that wasn't a good idea. After the birth of my first son, we became homeless for two years. It didn't matter where we applied to or what we did, our credit was good, we had money, good rental history, we kept getting denied over and over again for a place to live. It wasn't until I got pregnant with my daughter God weighed my past on my heart as I was crying to him one day. "Where are you? Why are we still homeless?" he said to me "Where are YOU? I'm right here". Then he showed me a series of all these times in my life where I ignored him and went to my tarot, went to my social media, went to my --whatever-. He said I've been here this whole time, but you have not been here with me. Do you remember the story of Job? I re-read the story of Job, and how this was so prevalent to my season in life, yes I will never deny my faith with Jesus but I did step aside and let the Enemy take over and deceive. After this it weighed on my heart to create a prayer journal where I wrote down everything, worries, prayers, needs, etc. I sang worship music and praised him with my ###-month-old while homeless in a disgusting moldy basement. I had dreams my entire pregnancy of me facing something and it would take my voice from me, not allowing me to rebuke it in Jesus name. When I was ### weeks pregnant with my daughter I wrote in my prayer journal once more and since I was nearing the end of my pregnancy and desperately needed a clean environment for my children to live in, I was looking at applications and rentals. We had our last $### to our name. I had a feeling and I prayed before I called this lady, God said to me in this prayer "###". I had no idea what he was talking about, I'm like ###???.. So the landlady answers the phone and tells me she's got ### applications left for this one unit available May ###. $### each for adults. I call my boyfriend up and I'm like hey she's got ### applications left, get them right now!! he goes over there and gets the two applications left, I prayed once more "just let this be it" we turn them in same day and pay the fees, lady calls me next morning and says we are approved, move-in date May ###. I would be ### weeks pregnant moving in. I praised Jesus with my baby boy! ### years of being homeless! We moved in May and I had my beautiful baby girl in our new apartment in June. My whole pregnancy I put my faith in Jesus and his Word, his Will. I ask of you guys to just pray for my continued deliverance, my faith, and for the desire of the Lord to grow more within my heart. I grew up in church, I grew up praising Jesus and his Word and I want my children to do the same.

We rejoice with you for the mighty work God has done in your life, delivering you from homelessness and drawing you closer to Him. It is evident that the Lord has been merciful and gracious to you, even in your past involvement with new age practices that do not align with biblical principles. We are reminded of God's faithfulness in the story of Job, how He redeems and restores those who turn to Him. As it is written in Job 42:10-12 WEB:

"Yahweh turned the captivity of ###, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave ### twice as much as he had before... So Yahweh blessed the latter end of ### more than his beginning."

We commend you for creating a prayer journal, turning to worship, and seeking God's will in Jesus' name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

However, we must address that you mentioned having a boyfriend. We encourage you to consider the biblical principles of relationships and marriage. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"

We encourage you to seek God's will for a godly spouse and a marriage that honors Him. As it is written in Ephesians 5:31-33 WEB: "'For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.' This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who has experienced Your deliverance from homelessness. We praise You for Your faithfulness and the work You have done in her life. Lord, we ask that You continue to grow her faith, deepen her desire for You, and guide her in Your will. Help her to raise her children in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord, and if it is Your will, provide her with a godly spouse that they may have a marriage that honors and glorifies You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God's will in Jesus' name, growing in your faith, and raising your children to know and love the Lord. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you.

Wow, what a journey! We're so glad to hear about the amazing ways God has worked in your life. It's incredible to see how He took your past and turned it into a testimony of His faithfulness. We're right there with you, praising God for delivering you from homelessness and drawing you closer to Him.

We love that you've been journaling your prayers and worshipping God, even in the midst of your struggles. That's truly a testament to your faith. And we're so happy for you and your family, finally having a stable place to live and a beautiful baby girl to complete your family.

Just like you, we've been reminded of Job's story. God didn't cause the hardships, but He used them to draw Job closer to Him. And in the end, God blessed Job even more than before. That's our God - He takes our messes and turns them into masterpieces!

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will in your life. As you continue to grow in your faith, we want to gently bring up something you mentioned - your boyfriend. We believe in the power of godly relationships and marriages. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, we're encouraged not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We're not saying this to judge, but to encourage you to consider God's best for your life. We believe that God has a wonderful plan for your future, including a godly spouse if that's His will for you.

Let's continue to pray for you, sister. Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness in her life. We ask that You would continue to grow her faith, deepen her desire for You, and guide her in Your will. Help her to raise her children in Your ways, and if it's Your will, provide her with a godly spouse. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep seeking God's will, and remember, we're here with you, cheering you on every step of the way!

Yes, as a stubborn 18 year old I didn't think of the importance of being married under God. I wanted to do things "my way", and it has definitely opened that door that shouldn't have been opened. I do not regret my children but I do regret not finding a man of God and getting married first. That is something that's been weighing on my heart now as I am trying to plant the seed within him but he is not budging. I pray for him everyday that we both become women and men God intended us to be, and not what the world expects us to be<3 A man leading the home in Christ, they will follow. I am 22 now, I definitely have lots to learn and grow from. Much love and thank you for praying for me.
