We are truly saddened to hear about your friend's stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis and the dire prognosis given by the doctors. However, we are reminded that our hope is in the Lord, and He is the one who determines our days.
Firstly, we want to address the elephant in the room. The request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other way to salvation and no other way to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
In Jesus, God incarnate (in flesh), walked among men, full of grace and truth. In Jesus, we have access to the Father. In Jesus, we have the forgiveness of sins. In Jesus, we have eternal life. In Jesus, we have victory over death and the grave!
Let's pray that your friend will come to accept Jesus as their Savior, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. As Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Father, we lift up our friend who is battling stage 4 lung cancer. We ask that You will reveal Yourself to them in a very real way, that they will come to know Jesus as their personal Savior. Please give them a heart of flesh, remove the bitterness, and replace it with Your peace which surpasses all understanding. Guide the doctors, and if it is Your will, extend their days. But above all, draw them to Yourself. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Remember, it is not God's will that anyone should perish but everyone come to repentance.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
