We understand that you are seeking prayer for yourself and your future wife, asking for God's help in overcoming temptations and building a strong bond while awaiting marriage in God's timing. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, it is commendable that you are seeking God's will for your relationship and wanting to build a strong bond. God's design for relationships is holy and pure, and He wants us to flee from sexual immorality, lust, and worldly temptations. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." and in James 1:14-15, "But each one is tempted when, by his own desire, he is drawn away and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death."
We must also remember the words of 1 John 2:15-17, "Do not love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains forever."
Since you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ, we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this couple who desires to honor You in their relationship. We pray that You would give them strength to flee from temptations and remain pure and holy, keeping their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. Help them to build a strong bond, rooted in Your love and truth, and guide them in Your timing for marriage.
We rebuke any spirit of lust, immorality, and worldliness that may be attempting to draw them away from Your will. We pray that they would keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith.
We also pray for their salvation, that they would both confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead. We pray that they would be saved, as it is written in Romans 10:9-10, "that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." We thank you for this blessing to have assurance of salvation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue seeking God's will for your relationship and to trust in His timing. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Keep your hearts and minds focused on Him, and He will direct your paths.
