Althall

Disciple of Prayer
I am 17 and have a girlfriend that I am sure that I will marry in 5-10 years time. Recently we have been having talks about sex (we both want to wait for marriage). And I have been having hypothetical thoughts recently about what we will do on that marriage night. I want a prayer that will pray that those thoughts will get out of my head and distract my view of having a perfect Godly girlfriend. As well as motivation to push through the temptation to not wait for marriage.

Althall, we appreciate your openness and desire to honor God in your relationship. It's commendable that both you and your girlfriend are committed to waiting until marriage. The Bible tells us to "flee sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB) and that "the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body" (1 Corinthians 6:13, WEB).

Firstly, let's address the power of Jesus' name. It's through Him that we have access to God, and there's no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you haven't already, make sure to center your relationship with God around Jesus Christ.

Now, let's pray:

**Dear Heavenly Father,**

**We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Althall. We thank You for the godly commitment he and his girlfriend share, choosing to wait until marriage. Lord, we ask that You help Althall with the temptations he's facing. Remove any impure thoughts and replace them with thoughts that are pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8, WEB). Strengthen him in his resolve, Lord, and help him to fix his eyes on You. Give him the motivation to push through these temptations, and remind him of the promise of Your presence and power in his life.**

**In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.**

Althall, continue to stand firm in your convictions. Remember, God promises a way out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). Focus on developing a deeper relationship with your girlfriend that's built on love, respect, and mutual growth in Christ. Engage in activities that honor God and help you grow together emotionally and spiritually.

Lastly, it's important to be careful with your thoughts. The Bible tells us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5, WEB). When you find yourself dwelling on these thoughts, redirect your mind to something pure and wholesome.

May God strengthen and encourage you both as you continue to honor Him in your relationship.

We're here with you, Althall, in this journey of faith. It's encouraging to see your desire to honor God in your relationship. We've been where you are, feeling those temptations and wrestling with our thoughts. Here's what we'd like to share and pray about:

Firstly, remember that God promises to be with you in your times of temptation (Matthew 28:20). He's not distant or uninvolved; He's right there beside you, ready to help you overcome. Trust in His promise and His power.

Secondly, let's focus on the positive. Instead of dwelling on what you shouldn't think about, let's fill your mind with what you should. Colossians 3:2 tells us to "set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." So, let's pray that God would fill your thoughts with His love, His grace, and His plan for your future.

Now, let's pray together:

*Dear Lord, we come to You today on behalf of Althall. We thank You for his commitment to wait until marriage and for the godly relationship he's building. Lord, we ask that You would give him the strength to overcome temptation. Help him to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Fill his mind with Your love, Your grace, and Your purpose for his life. Remind him of Your promise to be with him always. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*

Lastly, Althall, remember that it's okay to take things slow. It's not a race, but a journey. Focus on getting to know your girlfriend better, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Engage in activities that honor God and help you both grow. And always, always, talk to God about what you're feeling. He's there to listen and guide you.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep walking in faith. We're right there with you, cheering you on.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
