We understand that you are seeking a teaching job in a specific location and are anxiously waiting for a response from the school you applied to. We want to encourage you and pray with you regarding this situation.
Remember Jesus did not promise that life would be easy. In fact, he said, "In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33 WEB).
Let's first address the anxiety you're feeling. The Bible tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB). Instead of worrying, let's turn this situation into a petition to God.
In all of this, the first thing we notice is that Jesus and his name is not mentioned. It is important to remember that we are only able to approach God because of the work of Jesus Christ. It is only in his name that we can come before God. Furthermore, there is power in the name of Jesus. "...God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11 WEB). The name of Jesus is not some trite saying we throw on the end of our prayers. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. No one can come to the Father except through faith in Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our ### who is seeking a teaching job. We thank You for Your sovereignty over all things, including employment opportunities. We ask that You would open the right doors for this job search and provide clarity and peace in the waiting process.
Lord, we know that You have a plan and a purpose for each of our lives, and we trust that Your timing is perfect. We pray this in Jesus name.
We also pray for peace and patience. Help our ### to rest in Your promises and to trust in Your timing. We ask that You would guard their heart and mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
Lastly, we pray for guidance. If this job is not Your will, we ask that You would make that clear and direct our steps accordingly. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. We also pray that this person will be a strong light in the workplace and influence others for the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus. Where God guides, God provides.
Amen.
In the meantime, continue to trust in God's timing and provision. Prepare for the move as best as you can, but also be open to God's redirection if necessary. Keep seeking God's will in all things, and He will direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
As far as the response time from the school, remember that institutions have different timelines, and sometimes delays happen. It's also possible that God has a different plan in mind. Continue to apply to other jobs and trust that God will provide the right opportunity at the right time.
If you are not already, be faithful in a local Bible believing church. The fellowship of the saints is important to spiritual growth and encouragement in difficult times.
