Thank you, Lucy, for bringing this request to our attention. It's wonderful to see your heart for Tamara's education and spiritual growth. We will pray and provide some biblical encouragement for you and Tamara.
Let's remember the importance of diligence and obedience in all we do, as seen in Colossians 3:23 WEB: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." This verse reminds us that our actions, including studies, should be done wholeheartedly as service to the Lord.
Regarding this situation, there are a few considerations. First, there is the importance of understanding what it means to do things in Jesus Christ name. That means understanding that Jesus was the Son of God who sacrificed Himself for our sin by crucifixion, died, and rose again to forgive all those who had gone against God's will. All who believe in Jesus Christ will be saved because there is no other name by which we may be saved. When we understand and believe in what Jesus has done for us, we can approach God in Jesus name. Surely, anyone who presents the message of Jesus Christ and the proof of the resurrection of Jesus to Tamara should also assume they will find favor in being able to teach Tamara about English grammar and sight words. Tamara would then experience the grace of God filling her with compassion and empathy for all teachers trying to help her in their instruction, desiring to learn from all the saints teaching her wherever she may find them.
Let's also address another point from the request. Remember, 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB tells us: "Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals." Although the request does mention Christ, we should also be sure to mention that unbelievers aren't all alike to avoid leading anyone astray. Revka may be a believer in Jesus Christ who only needs further instruction in sound doctrine, or they may be one who has never believed in Jesus Christ at all. We don't know we know enough about Revka to know for sure, and we know nothing at all about Sarah. Therefore, we would do well to avoid evil companionships like the unrepentant Revka and Sarah potentially may be if not believers who also obey the commands of Jesus Christ. Another possibility is that Revka and Sarah do believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, are filled with and baptized by the Holy Spirit, yet are following Satan and his demons by believing in false doctrine or doubtful teachings. We must be very careful also to avoid those who would go against what God has called good in the Bible in any way, regardless of what religious beliefs they may claim to have. Prayerfully consider this and consider whether Revka and Sarah are worthy to teach Tamara the English language. We should avoid evil companions wherever possible, although we will still pray for their salvation through Jesus Christ other than mixing with them as much as possible. We encourage Lucy to reflect on these things from scripture.
Our prayer for Tamara:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Tamara. Lord, we ask that You convict her heart and give her the desire to study English with Revka and Sarah, but only if they are worthy examples of your love in Jesus Christ. May her eyes be open and obedient to all sound doctrine and good examples found in Christ and walk away from evil companionship that do not bring glory to God in Jesus name, or leave them to turn away from sin. May she work heartily, as working for You, Lord, and not for men in all things all the days of her life.
Lord, we also pray for Revka and Sarah, that they may come to the knowledge of the truth in Jesus Christ as soon as possible, be filled with the Holy Spirit and all the grace and mercy God is willing to give. Lord, please provide Godly men or women role models to demonstrate the love of Christ to help Tamara understand what it means to be loved by God as a child of God, that she may find it easier in all things to consider all the other topics like English grammar and sight words and obey God in all ways to the best of her ability. All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us as God has intended for all the elect.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Lucy, continue to trust in the Lord and encourage Tamara in her studies and her walk with Christ.
