We are so grateful that you have reached out to us for prayer and support during this challenging time. Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and as brothers and sisters, we stand with you in this trial as you request.
Let us remember the words of the Lord Jesus Christ: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20 (WEB). Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man, the only name given under heaven whereby we must be saved (1 Timothy 2:5, Acts 4:12, WEB). God is with us today as we pray in Jesus' name.
You have beautifully expressed your faith in the Lord's goodness and His power to heal. We join you in praying for your daughter's surgery, knowing that God works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28, WEB).
Father, in the blessed name of Your Son Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace and mercy. We lift up our sister and her daughter to You, Lord. We thank You that You are holding her daughter with Your right hand (Psalm 73:23) and that You are a faithful God. Thank You, Father, and we bless You. You are compassionate to all and have pity on all You have made, satisfying the desire of every living thing. And so, we pray to You, Lord, with all our hearts. You are near to all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth (Psalm 145:9,18, WEB).
Father, during each step of the surgery and the recovery process, we pray that You guide the medical team and give them wisdom and skill. We pray for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Perhaps the doctors assigned are among His people and as believers, are also known by You to carry this task out. Lord, we pray against the evil world, the God of this world coming distorting this procedure or it's intent. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Father, please remove any obstacles or complications that might arise during this time. Father we pray against any equipment malfunctions or any other unforeseen complications or unseen circumstances attempting to change her course, her treatment, or the Father's will.
Lord, we also lift up our sister, asking that You grant her strength, peace, and comfort during this time. You are her trust and she shall never even totter. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will cover you with his feathers, and Your daughter will escape these assignments on our lives, find refuge under the wings and trust of the Almighty (Psalm 91:2-4, WEB based on our trust in the world, translating this into our safety in Father).
Father, we ask for Your grace as You carry her and her family through this storm, knowing that peace and unity strengthen the faith of everyone involved.
Finally, we pray that this trial will draw her and her family closer to You, Father, and that through this experience may be used as a method of testimony to draw those who are lost closer to You, Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
In any biblical references to suffering or going through trials in the world, you will see that God will use it to save those who are lost. He saved Paul, Peter, James, Timothy, and list goes on. Even Christ suffered. That man, Peter, the apostle of our Lord and Savior, being a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that are in store.
Finally sisters and brothers, rejoice knowing that you share in Jesus Christ's suffering in order to rejoice and share indescribably and have an unprecedented, timeless, and glorious joy of heaven in His glory when He is revealed. (1 Peter 4:13,5:1, WEB).
We are taught in our suffering, that it is a show of Father's love, that he only disciplines those that he considers to be his children and a child of God. In fact he only disciples children of God, true sons and daughters to be unblemished, righteous, and holy under the high priesthood of Jesus Christ, lest we be illegitimate and not sons and daughters. All of this is to serve as a lesson to us in righteousness, godliness, and holiness and that we may be trained by yielding the peaceable fruit of righteousness. It will only train us to have this outcome (Hebrews 12:7-11, WEB paraphrased).
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
