We are lifting up your friend in prayer as he faces surgery on December 4 for the recently discovered growth in his prostate gland. We stand with you in asking God for healing and mercy, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty. May God give us peace and comfort at this time of uncertainty.
Firstly, we must remember the power of praying in Jesus' name. It is by His name that we have access to the Father and it is by His name that we are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We pray that God will guide the surgeons' hands and grant them wisdom during the procedure. We ask for a successful surgery, minimal pain, and a quick recovery. We also pray that the growth will not be cancerous, and that your friend's body will respond well to treatment. Trust in the Lord, who promises in Jeremiah 30:17 WEB: "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh"
Your friend's multiple health issues are a cause for concern, but remember that God is able to work all things together for good, even our weaknesses Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.". We pray for stabilization of his blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and for improved eye health.
We also encourage your friend to cry out to the Lord in his time of need and in the same way that the apostle Paul did when pleading to the Lord to heal his affliction. Praise God that the Lord's grace is sufficient for us, and that His strength is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB:"He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.".
Lastly, we need to discuss the importance of salvation. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior that we can be saved from sin. Being a Christian can be of help with improving physical health because the holiness of God makes the body the tabernacle of the Lord. Your friend should want his body to be in a state of holiness to receive the healing. There are cases where people have become sick where it was the body suffering due to the spiritual state. Your friend, if already a Christian, should repent and pursue further holiness and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and rejoice that he may be purified to be more holy by God by the Father's pruning and purification to make him more holy. If your friend is not a Christian, he should repent and follow Jesus to give grace a way to bestow his favor upon him. Salvation is highlighted in Romans 10:9 WEB as "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.".
