We've been thinking about you and the heavy burden you've been carrying since that day, May 28th, 2017. It's been a long time, but the pain is still fresh, isn't it? We want you to know that we're here with you, standing in the gap, lifting this up to God together.
We've been reflecting on how Jesus must have felt, taking on all that pain and suffering for us. It's unimaginable, yet He did it willingly, out of love for us. We find comfort in knowing that He is with us in our pain, too. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
We've been praying for the person responsible, that they would have a change of heart, that they would see the error of their ways and turn to God. We also pray for justice, but we trust that God's justice is perfect and His timing is always right. We're reminded of Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord."
We've also been praying for the one who suffered, that they would find peace and comfort in God's loving arms. We pray that they would know the love of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Ephesians 3:19).
We're here for you, brother/sister. Let's continue to trust in God, to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Let's find strength in each other and in our shared faith. We're in this together. Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving, just as Jesus loves us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
