So I have a friend we had stayed in touch after I left her church and then this year she twice said she’d add my birthday to her calendar, didn’t wish me in the end and when I talked to her she said, "Hey, I'm sorry, I completely forgot to wish you." She had been a good friend otherwise, but still, I decided to try to be like, "Oh my gosh, you’re 18 soon," and purposely didn’t wish her on her actual birthday. I just want her to wish me this time and I want to just move forward and be good friends to each other in Jesus' name.

We understand your feelings of disappointment, ###, but let's remember what the Word of God teaches us about love, forgiveness, and relationships. In Ephesians 4:32 (WEB), it says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

It seems that your friend genuinely forgot to wish you on your birthday, and she apologized for it. Holding onto this disappointment might not be beneficial for your friendship or your spiritual growth. Instead, let's focus on the good qualities of your friend, as you've mentioned that she has been a good friend otherwise.

In Philippians 2:3-4 (WEB), we are encouraged to value others above ourselves and look not only to our own interests but also to the interests of others. By doing so, you can foster a stronger and more meaningful friendship built on love, understanding, and mutual respect.

We come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your wisdom and guidance for ###'s friendship. Help her to forgive her friend completely, just as You have forgiven us through Christ. Moving forward, continue to be a loving and forgiving friend, just as Christ loves and forgives us. If your friend forgets your birthday again, remember that her apology seems sincere, and it might be best to extend grace and understanding. Trust in the Lord to guide and strengthen your friendship according to His will.
