We stand with you, ###, in lifting up the numerous and urgent concerns you've shared. Let's approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that our Lord Jesus Christ is interceding for us.
Firstly, we pray for the persecuted Christians around the world. As it is written in 1 Timothy 2:4, God "desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." We ask for your divine protection and provision for the ### million Christians facing persecution. May they stand firm in their faith, even unto death, knowing that you, Lord, have overcome the world (John 16:33).
We pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of the people of Israel, knowing that your promises to them are everlasting. As the Psalmist says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you'" (Psalm 122:6). We ask for your guidance and wisdom for the leaders of Israel and the nations surrounding them.
We lift up the salvation of many around the world, including the ### billion unreached. May the Father draw many to Jesus, and may we be obedient in sharing the good news, for how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? (Romans 10:14).
We pray for the protection of children worldwide who are suffering from abuse and violence. Lord, you said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). We ask for your intervention and comfort in their lives, and for the conviction and just punishment of their abusers.
We pray for those facing starvation and poverty, that you would provide for their needs according to your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask for relief and comfort for those suffering from natural and manmade disasters, war, and disease.
We pray for an awakening in the church universal, that we would be aware of the lateness of the hour and be about our Father's business. We ask for sound biblical teaching in our churches and protection from false doctrines and deception.
We lift up each of the individuals and families mentioned by name, asking for your healing, protection, salvation, deliverance, and provision. In particular, we speak against any bondage, addiction, or strongholds, knowing that "he who the Son sets free is free indeed" (John 8:36).
We also address the issues of fornication and adultery that were hinted at in the prayer request. We must remember that sexual sin is a grave matter in God's eyes, and we are commanded to flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18). We ask for conviction and repentance where necessary, and for strength and self-control to live in purity.
Finally, we note that the prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We must always remember that it is only by his name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we thank you for hearing our prayers. We ask that you would glorify your name in all these situations, working all things together for good for those who love you and are called according to your purpose (Romans 8:28). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
