Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to request your prayers regarding an important issue affecting the job market in our community. There is a growing concern about the trend of permanent jobs being offered primarily to foreigners, while contract positions are increasingly becoming the norm for Singaporeans. Please pray for a fair and balanced approach that prioritizes job stability and opportunities for all, particularly for local talent. Firstly, we must remember the words of James 2:1-4 (WEB), "My brothers, don’t hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality. For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in; and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing, and say, 'Sit here in a good place;' and you tell the poor man, 'Stand there,' or 'Sit by my footstool;' haven’t you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?"

It is important to advocate for fairness and equity in the job market, ensuring that locals are not marginalized in their own community. However, we must also guard our hearts against partiality or bias against foreigners, as God calls us to love and welcome the stranger (Leviticus 19:34).
