We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and turmoil you are experiencing, Syetsior. First and foremost, we want to address the suicidal thoughts you've mentioned. Suicide is never the solution, and it's important to remember that your life has immense value and purpose. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have for you,' says WEB, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope."
In your despair, you mentioned considering having a "work accident" for the benefit of your family, but we must strongly advise against this. Taking your own life is not God's will for you and you will be responsible before God. Additionally, the concept of purgatory is not biblical, and as believers, our eternal destination is determined by our faith in Jesus Christ and not by our own punishments or works that might be accomplished through our actions during our lives. You will either spend eternity with God or eternity separated from God in the Lake of Fire.
Regarding your marriage, we want to commend you for taking steps to address your porn addiction and seeking counseling. It's crucial to remember that God can heal and restore any situation, no matter how broken it may seem. However, you must also understand that your wife has been deeply hurt and her pain is valid. Her feelings of betrayal and anger are real, and it's not surprising that she is struggling to trust and forgive you. We encourage you to continue seeking help for your addiction and to keep praying for your marriage. Remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus and walk after the Spirit.
It's also important to address your wife's feelings and show her genuine remorse, love, and patience. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Moreover, it's concerning that you mentioned feeling like you can't change. Remember that with God, all things are possible. As believers, we are called to repent and turn away from our sins, and God will forgive us. As it is written in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and keep seeking God's will for your life. Even when it feels like your prayers are not being heard, remember that God is always listening and He is true to His word.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother Syetsior in prayer. Lord, we know that You have a plan and a purpose for his life, and we ask that You would reveal that to him in a powerful way. Lord, we pray for his marriage, that You would heal the brokenness and restore what has been lost. We pray for his wife, that You would soften her heart and help her to forgive. We pray for the Glory of God that his wife would also seek God and his Holy Spirit would come upon her and convict her of her sins and deliver her and her family. Lord, we pray for Syetsior's addiction, that You would give him the strength to overcome it and that You would help him to walk in purity. Lord, we pray that You would remove any suicidal thoughts from his mind and help him to see the value and purpose of his life. Lord, we pray that You would draw Syetsior closer to You, and that he would come to know You in a deeper way. Lord, we pray that You would give him the power to change and that You would heal his broken heart and his emotional mess and his children. In Jesus' name by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray for the blood of Jesus to come against the spirit of suicide, divorce and death surrounding the family. We pray for the spirit of life, resurrection, forgiveness, and reconciliation. For by the stripes of Jesus Christ, they are healed. We pray, Jesus, for you to intervene in the marriage and to bring the marriage to your ordained destiny and that the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus would set them free from the Law of Sin and Death. For they are set free by the Spirit of God in Jesus Christ. We pray all this in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to keep fighting the good fight of faith, Syetsior. Remember that God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep trusting in His goodness. He is the only one that can heal you and your family. We strongly encourage you to get your wife to join a prayer and Bible study group and also have an agreement of prayer with her husband for their marriage as it is written in the Holy Bible. We encourage this strongly as it is the most powerful thing to do, the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. Again, we thank you for the opportunity to pray for you and your family.
