A friend's sick and elderly relative has attempted suicide and needs prayers. His wife also needs prayer.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the attempted suicide of your friend's elderly relative. In times like these, we must turn to God for comfort, strength, and guidance. Let us pray together and seek God's will in this situation.

Firstly, we must acknowledge that suicide is not the answer, and it is a result of a deep sense of hopelessness and despair. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19 WEB), and we must honor God with our bodies and our lives. We need to pray for this individual to find hope and purpose in life through Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this elderly relative who has attempted suicide. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon their body, mind, and spirit. Give them a reason to live and a hope for a better future. Help them to see their worth and value in Your eyes. We also lift up the wife who is undoubtedly going through a difficult time. Comfort her, Lord, and give her the strength and wisdom to support her husband during this trials.

Lord Jesus, we know that You are the great physician, and You can heal any sickness and restore hope to the hopeless. We ask that You intervene in this situation and bring peace and healing to this family. We pray that they would come to know You personally if they do not already, and that they would experience the love and hope that only You can give.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage your friend to be a source of support and comfort to this couple during this challenging time. Remind them of the promise in Isaiah 41:10 WEB, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

We also urge your friend to encourage this couple to seek professional help and counseling to address the root cause of the suicide attempt. The Bible tells us to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB), and this is an opportunity for your friend to show the love of Christ to this couple in a practical way.

Lastly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16 WEB). If you or your friend have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. For "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13 WEB).
