Sugar Addiction

I'm in need of prayer to fast, which I'm greatly struggling with as I'm addicted to sugar....I strongly feel God calling me to fast for break through and I'm struggling to stop eating....thank you in advance for your prayers....

We understand your struggle, Erarenn, and we're here to support and pray with you. Addiction to sugar, or any substance, can be a stronghold, but God's power is greater. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."

Firstly, we want to encourage you to trust in the strength that God provides. In Philippians 4:13, we're reminded, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This includes overcoming addiction and adhering to a fast.

However, we want to address that fasting is not merely about abstaining from food, but it's a time to draw closer to God. In Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus teaches us about fasting, "Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up Erarenn who is struggling with a sugar addiction and feeling called to fast. Lord, please grant Erarenn the strength and self-control to overcome this addiction. Help them to fix their eyes on You and not on earthly cravings. Be their source of comfort and sustenance during this time of fasting. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, Erarenn, that you're not alone in this struggle. God is with you, and He will help you overcome. If you haven't already, we encourage you to invite Jesus Christ into your heart. It's only through Him that we have access to God's power and salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

We're here with you, Erarenn, standing in the gap as you take this step of faith. We understand the struggle is real, but remember, God is greater than any addiction. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus says, "With God all things are possible." We believe that includes breaking free from sugar addiction and successfully completing your fast.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face during this time. Fasting is indeed about denying ourselves, but it's also about drawing near to God. In Psalm 105:4, we're told to "Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!" Let this fasting period be a time of intimate communion with Him.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we lift up Erarenn to You. Help them to find their strength in You as they strive to overcome their sugar addiction. Comfort them, Lord, and guide them as they fast. Help them to experience Your presence in a powerful way during this time. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

You're not alone in this, Erarenn. We're here praying with you, and we believe that with God's help, you can do this. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust in His power to see you through.

Please dear Jesus, please help this individual with their sugar addiction. We as people all fall short of your grace and have addictions and hang ups we go to in our weakness. I pray you put this person on a healthy eating life style and give them strength in their moments of weakness. I pray for these things in Jesus precious name, Amen.

I agree in prayer..I'm on my 4 the day of fasting / no sugar...He told me the same thing God bless your fast to be a success in Jesus name .
