We understand your nervousness and feelings of depression as you await the acceptance of your academic papers and the completion of your PhD. Let us come together in prayer and encouragement during this challenging time.
Firstly, let us remember the promise in Isaiah 40:31 (WEB), "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." We encourage you to continue to wait patiently for the Lord's timing, knowing that He will renew your strength.
We also want to address the loss you've experienced and the sacrifices you've made. We find comfort in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is using these experiences to shape you and prepare you for His purpose.
However, we noticed that you ended your prayer with "In your name I pray." We want to remind you of the words of Jesus in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is anxious and depressed about their PhD completion. Lord, we ask that You grant them patience and strength as they wait for the acceptance of their academic papers. We pray that they get a positive response this month so they can submit their dissertation in December, defend their research, and graduate in March 2025.
Lord Jesus, we thank You for the sacrifices they've made and the losses they've endured. We ask that You comfort them and help them to see Your purpose in all of this. We claim Your promise that all things work together for good for those who love You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother/sister. Continue to trust in the Lord, and He will see you through this. God bless you.
