We understand that you're feeling emotionally drained and under spiritual attack as a substance abuse counselor in a Texas prison. Firstly, we commend you for your work and acknowledge the spiritual warfare it entails. In Jesus name we stand with you. It is only in His name that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. And it is only in that name that we have authority and salvation. Therefore, let us pray.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our fellow servant who works as a substance abuse counselor. We pray that You would release Your Spirit of might and counsel in their life, as per Isiah 11:2, just as You did with Jesus. Strengthen them with Your power, give insight, knowledge, and wisdom so they will know what to do. Guide them in their interactions with the prisoners, so Your truth and life would flow through them, ministering grace and healing to those they counsel.
We recognize that their work is a spiritual battle. As Your Word says in 2 Corinthians 10:4, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." We pray that You would destroy any strongholds that the enemy has set up in their mind and in the minds of those they work with. Use the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to set them free and to pass along that freedom to others because "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" (2 Corinthians 3:17).
If there is indeed a demonic presence, we take authority in Jesus' name and command it to leave. Your servant is a child of God, sealed with the Holy Spirit, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Ephesians 1:13, Isaiah 54:17).
Father, fill our fellow servant with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Give them joy where there is heartache and Praise God where there are lies. Strengthen them in their inner being so that they can continue to pour into the lives of others, as per Ephesians 3:16 help them experience the love of Christ. Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30).
Finally, we pray that you would send laborers to the field as the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37).
In Jesus' name we pray for you because "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) amen.
Remember, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."(1 John 4:4)
Stand strong in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), knowing that no matter what comes your way. Be strong and courageous do not be afraid for the Lord your God is with you. And "the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world."
Lastly know that "for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." (1 John 5:4-5)
