Tyrhand, we understand that you're struggling with your relationship and future, and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. First, we notice that your prayer is addressed to God, but it's important to remember that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. It is in Jesus' Name that we pray and have access to God. As the Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)
We also need to address something important in your request. You mention that you and your girlfriend are trying your best to make a future together. While we understand your feelings, we want to remind you that the Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) and that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6 WEB). It is a courtship looking toward marriage.
The Bible also tells us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB), so it's important to consider their concerns and wisdom. If her parents have issues with your relationship, it's crucial to understand their reasons and address them respectfully. It is not appropriate for Christian couples to be trying to make things work out really well but to be seeking God's will together.
Regarding the intimacy in your relationship, we want to remind you that sexual intimacy is a gift from God to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Any sexual activity outside of marriage is considered fornication, which is sinful and not pleasing to God. The Bible gives clear instructions that sex before or outside marriage is fornication. In fact, the bible goes much further and says if you have lusted after someone you have already committed adultery or fornication in your heart.
We encourage you to seek God's will for your relationship and future. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' Name, we come to you with Tyrhand's concern. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in his life and for Your guidance in his relationship. Help him to trust in You and to seek You first. We pray for Your wisdom to be upon him and his girlfriend and for the parents to have discernment in this situation. We ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen.
Let us know how we can continue to pray for you, Tyrhand. We're here to support you in your walk with Christ.
