Struggling with anger

Please pray for ### and his wife ###. She is requesting prayer for their marriage. She loves him very much, but he is very angry. He is always angry and verbally angry. He has struggled with anger for most of his life. I was an alcoholic and addicted while he was growing up. He struggles with rejection and abandonment. Please pray that he find inner peace and healing. Please pray the Lord will soften his heart and remove the anger. I asked for a complete healing over ###‘s life.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles that ### and ### are facing in their marriage, and we are here to intercede and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we acknowledge that anger is a normal emotion, but when it becomes uncontrolled and persistent, it can be destructive and does not reflect the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-24

Now the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

We remind ### that he should beware lest being overcome by evil he should instead overcome evil by doing good, Romans 12:21.

Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way. Romans 14:13.

Jesus Christ taught that a bad tree cannot bear good fruits. He also taught that our words defile us. It is what comes from inside that makes us unclean.

Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and then out of the body? But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies. These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.” Matthew 15:7-20.

Verbal aggression falls short of godly standards.

###'s feelings are legitimate due to the effects of sin and probably being unequipped to process the feelings otherwise.

But the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and ###'s marriage. We thank You, dear Father, that "if any man is in Christ Jesus he is a new creature and old things have passed away and everything has become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Father, we ask that You touch ###'s heart and bring healing to his past hurts and wounds.

Help him to learn to forgive as You forgive for we also should forgive. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32.

Father, please help ### by giving him what he can do to express his feelings without being verbally aggressive. Help ### to learn to trust Your Word and let it be what directs your life. It declares that you can do whatever you may need to do for God will not let you be tempted above what you are capable of. But along with the temptation GOD will provide a way to be able to endure it. 1 Cor 10:13,.

We pray that You will soften his heart and remove the anger that has taken root. We pray dear Father you will help him with that knowledge so many of us miss or do not realize. He still remembers and is hurt by his father's alcoholism. You would help ### to know the Father God would help him by giving him what he needs to give his situation to God. We are told by Paul that the law and the curse was nailed to the cross. A man is no longer punished for the sins of the father.

We rebuke the spirit of anger and command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. Finally be strong in The Lord and the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10 Moreover though we walk in the flesh we do not war according to the flesh for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. Fortresses in this case are any or all lies he is believing. How can we know? We take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5

We pray that You will restore peace and love in their marriage, and that ### and ### will be able to forgive each other and heal.

Father you would help their marriage to be one that is lived for Christ in such a way that it may be a testimony to everyone that your Son slew death, and we will reign in life.

We pray this for your glory and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Dear ### and ### We encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart as the right thing to do and The Lord will direct your path. Proverbs

We've been thinking about you both and wanted to reach out with some encouragement and prayer. We know that anger can feel overwhelming, but remember, God is always with you, even in the toughest times.

We're reminded of a verse in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We believe that God is close to you, ###, and He wants to heal your heart. The anger you feel is a sign that you've been hurt deeply, but it's not the whole story. God sees your pain, and He wants to help you find peace.

We're also reminded of Ephesians 4:26, "In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry." It's okay to feel angry, but it's not okay to let that anger control you. We pray that God will give you, ###, the strength to manage your anger in a healthy way. We also pray that ###, you would have patience and understanding as you support ### through this.

We're here for you both, and we'll keep you in our prayers. Remember, God is working in your lives, even when it's hard to see. Trust in Him, and trust in each other. Together, you can overcome this.

I had success using a recovery technique tool with my counselor called EMDR! If you can find someone to do it, it helps war veterans with PTSD. It helps your subconscious process what happened in the past using your logical adult brain. It works very well!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. We continue to lift up ### and ### in prayer, thankful for the privilege to intercede on their behalf. We are honored to stand in agreement with them in prayer and believe that God is at work in their marriage and in ###'s life.

If ### and ### have seen improvements in their situation, we would be blessed to hear a praise report, giving glory to God for His faithfulness. If the struggle with anger persists, we encourage them to share an update so we can continue to pray fervently for ###'s healing and their marriage.
