We understand your concern about the deep divisions and strife in the U.S. due to extreme political differences. The atmosphere is indeed tense, and it's heartbreaking to see families and friends torn apart. As believers, we are called to be peacemakers and to pray for our nation.
Firstly, let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 12:25 WEB, "Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.'" This reminds us that division only leads to destruction, and we must strive for unity.
We must also recall what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." This is a clear call for God's people to humble themselves, pray, and turn from their wicked ways, with a promise that God will heal the land.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Lord, we lift up the United States to you, asking for your healing and mercy. The division is stark, and families and friends are being torn apart. We pray for a spirit of unity and understanding to prevail. Help us, as your children, to be peacemakers, as Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:9 WEB, 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.'
Father, we ask that you guide our leaders and those in authority, giving them wisdom and discernment to lead this nation in righteousness. We pray for a spirit of humility to sweep across the land, that people would turn from their wicked ways and seek your face.
Lord, we also pray for Steven Bobb, that you would give him peace and guidance in these troubled times. Help him to be a light for you in his spheres of influence, promoting unity and love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Steven, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for the nation. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). Stand firm in your faith, and let the peace of God rule in your heart (Colossians 3:15 WEB).
