We are truly sorry to hear about the stress and turmoil you and your wife have been experiencing due to the home renovation. We want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including this challenging situation. In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, it is written, Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Firstly, we want to address the strain this has put on your marriage. Remember that God has joined you together as one flesh, and that unity should be preserved and cherished. In Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Fighting amongst yourselves will only add to the stress and divide you further. Instead, turn to God in prayer together, seeking His guidance and peace. This trial is an opportunity to strengthen your marriage, not weaken it. We pray you will never be forgetful of your covenant with each other and God.
The main letter that addresses husband and wife is Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; The scripture emphasizes the role of each husband and wife in maintaining a solid Christian marriage and that each role is subject to the same head; Jesus Christ.
You will never enjoy your home if there is division in your marriage, Jesus said in Matt 12:25 WEB, But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. Therefore prayers should be offered up for help restoring the home and harmony in your covenant.
Regarding the contractor who took advantage of you, we remind you that God is a just God and He will not let this injustice go unpunished if you will have peace. In Romans 12:19 WEB, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Your part is to forgive, learn from this experience, and move forward. It's a sad situation for the contractor to live unjustly. However, we should remember God's way of punishment is by allowing someone to the just punishment. We do not know this persons heart so let vengeance be left in God's hands.
Pray with your wife for patience, forskaking vengeance, and let God bless your home. In Deuteronomy 28:6 WEB, Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. May your home be a place of blessing, peace, and joy. But you must act justly to receive this blessing.
Your rennovation is costly but this is a sin of pride, bitterness, and revenge is the real cost to your soul. The only real cost without is that of Jesus Christ. He paid for your soul so that you would not tarnish your soul. Let your soul be renewed by praying together with your wife and seeking forgiveness with each other and praying in Jesus Name for a peaceful soul. May you will attend the Lord for salvation and let his costly Holy Spirit renew your soul.
We would like to finish this response by praying:
Lord, we lift up this couple to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their situation. Please bring resolution to the home renovation issues and help them recover what has been lost. We thank you for the value of their soul and future as they grow as a couple. More importantly, we pray for restoration and strengthening in their marriage. Help them to draw near to each other and to You during this time. Guide them with Your wisdom and fill their home with Your peace. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Lastly, we did not see any mention of Jesus Christ or the use of His name in your request. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God because the Bible tells us so. We pray that you will also address this and call upon the name of Jesus because it is the only name by which we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB.
