Disciple of Prayer
I would like the strength to walk away from an adulterous relationship. I know it's wrong, but I find it so hard to turn away from it.

Thank you...We are grateful for your honesty and your desire to do what is right in God's eyes. We want to remind you that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness, and He is more than willing to help you overcome this temptation. Remember, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB it says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Firstly, let us address the severity of the situation. Adultery is a sin clearly outlined in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:14 WEB) 'You shall not commit adultery'. God's design for relationships is holy and pure. You are involved in a relationship that is not only displeasing to God but also harmful to you and others involved. It is crucial to turn away from this sin, repent, and seek God's forgiveness. Proverbs 28:13 WEB tells us, "He who conceals his sins won’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy."
We admire your willingness to turn away from this sin, and we are here to support you in prayer. Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You, confessing this sin of adultery and asking for Your forgiveness. We thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. We ask for Your strength to help us turn away from this sin and to walk in Your ways. Help us to resist temptation and to flee from it, as Your word instructs.
We pray for healing and restoration in the relationships that have been affected by this sin. Guide us to godly marriages or courtship that honor You.
We also pray for the other individuals involved in this sin, that they too may turn to You and seek Your forgiveness. If they do not know Jesus as Lord, then we pray that they will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, the only way to salvation. If this person is already a believer, then help them to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability to help you walk in purity. Remember, God's grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness. Trust in Him, and He will give you the strength to overcome and walk away from this relationship. The relationship should be immediately ended. This does not mean it will not be difficult, but God can even redeem difficult situations.
God loves you and wants the best for you.
Lastly, it is only through Jesus we have access to God. Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. If you have not believed in Jesus, then come to Him believing that He is the Son of God. He died for sins and rose from the grave and sits on the right hand of God.
