We are truly sorry to hear about the trauma you experienced in prison. We want you to know that God sees your pain and hears your cry. He promises to be close to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18.
Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.
Now, let's address your request. God wants to heal you from these memories and comfort you in your pain. He promises to give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning Isaiah 61:3. We encourage you to cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.
Remember, God did not cause your suffering, but He can use it for good. He can bring healing and restoration, and even use your experiences to help others who have gone through similar situations. Consider Joseph, who was sold into slavery and later imprisoned. God used his experiences for good, and Joseph was able to say to his brothers, As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good Genesis 50:20.
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our dear friend who is in need of Your comfort and healing. We ask that You would be close to them right now, wrapping Your loving arms around them and reminding of Your unchanging and unfailing love. Help to erase bad memories.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch. Heal their memories, their body, their soul, and their spirit. Help them to stay strong, not by their own might, but by Your Spirit that lives in them. We thank You for Your promise to never leave them nor forsake them, and we ask that You would make Your presence known to them in a tangible way.
Help them to forgive those who have harmed them, just as You forgave those who harmed You. Help them to trust in You, even in the midst of their pain. We claim Your promise that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We ask that You would use this situation for good, not only in their life but also in the lives of others.
We ask all these things in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust in Him to bring you through this. He is always with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:6.
