We stand with you in your struggle against alcohol, knowing that this battle is not merely against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12).
Firstly, we commend you for recognizing the power of community and prayer in overcoming this challenge. It is crucial to gather with fellow believers, encouraging and supporting each other in the faith (Hebrews 10:25).
We must also address that the request does not mention Jesus Christ or his name in any form. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Also in Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Therefore, we pray this in Jesus' name and encourage you to do the same.
Concerning alcohol, the Bible advises us to be sober and self-controlled (1 Peter 5:8).
You mentioned that the devil is trying to hold you back from health and peace. Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling against alcohol. We pray that you would grant them strength and self-control to overcome this addiction. Surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them in their journey towards a healthier life. Rebuke the devil's attempts to hold them back, and grant them your perfect peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be steadfast in your faith and obedience to God. The Bible says Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Trust in the Lord's promise: No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
