We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you are facing, and we want you to know that you are not alone. God is with you, and He cares about your situation. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas. Psalm 46:1-2 WEB.
We commend you for working hard to provide for your daughter and yourself, as 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB tells us, "But if anyone doesn't provide for their own, and especially their own household, they have denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." However, we want to remind you that God does not intend for us to carry such heavy burdens alone. He wants us to cast all of our anxiety on him because he cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB.
Regarding your divorce, we want to remind you that God's original plan for marriage is that it is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, a lot of marriages today break up for reasons that are not valid according to the Bible. In Matthew 19:8-9 WEB Jesus said "He said to them, Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so. I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery." However, we do not know the circumstances of your divorce, and we want you to know that there is grace and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. Whatever the circumstances, we encourage you to seek God's will and guidance through this process.
We also want to address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is no other name by which we can be saved. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace," Ephesians 1:7 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother/sister who is going through a difficult time. Lord, you know the heavy burdens they carry, the stress, depression, and anxiety they face. We pray that you would be their strength and refuge in this time of trouble. We ask that you would provide for their needs, both financially and emotionally, and that you would guide them through the process of their divorce, where there is no reconciliation possible. We also pray if there is any reconciliation possible that you would do that miracle and show the power of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we pray that you would remind them of your love and faithfulness, and that you would give them peace and rest in you. We ask that you would surround them with your love and comfort, and that you would provide for their every need. We pray that whoever is at fault for the divorce to be called to repentance and reconciliation.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, guidance, and provision. We ask that you would be glorified in this situation, and that our brother/sister would be drawn closer to you.
Amen.
We encourage you to stay strong in your faith and to seek God's will in all things, and to seek a godly spouse in the future, if that is God's will for you. Remember that God's ways are not our ways, and that His thoughts are not our thoughts. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this storm.
