Let us come together in prayer for the situation that Udunnachi Uchechi Nelly is facing with her husband Christian. Thank you for bringing this issue to light and for being part of our 7 am online prayers under the direction of Chukwuogo.
Firstly, we must address the issue with the truth from God’s word. In 2 Timothy 3:6 (WEB), it says, "For of these are those who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,".We are living in a world where temptations are prevalent, and it is crucial to stand firm in our faith and resist these temptations. To the married couple,1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (WEB) Command each other their duties to avoid fornication. We should not only be watchful but also prayerful, putting on the full armor of God as mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-18 (WEB). The reality in Nythyld's case is that there is another woman involved who the Bible calls a strange woman in Proverbs 2:16-19: "To deliver you from the strange woman, Even from the foreigner who flatters with her words; Who forsakes the friend of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God: for her house leads down to death, Her paths to the dead. None who go to her return again, Neither do they attain to the paths of life".
We stand against this and gave the Bible's counsel to Christians in such a situation.Let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Nythyld's husband, Christian. We pray as You prayed for Peter's faith to not fail that Christian does not succumb to the temptations before him. We stand in the gap for him and rebuke all attempts for him to stray and succumb to fornication or adultery. Save him from every seduction and from every strange woman. Guide Christian back to the path of righteousness, and strengthen his resolve to honor his marriage vows. Remind him of the covenant he made before You and with his wife, Nythyld. We have read and believe in 1 John 5:14-15 (WEB) which says, "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.". It is intentionally not the Lord's will for this accused behavior to continue and therefore we have boldness and trust him and our request to stop it will be heard, acted upon and successful in Jesus' name.
Lord, we also lift up Nythyld. We know things have been difficult on her emotionally lately. We pray that You grant her the strength and grace to endure this trial under the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, we ask that You fill her with peace and wisdom so she may be Christ-like and respond as You would have her to. We trust and believe Your promise in Romans 8:28 (WEB) "and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.". Therefore, we know even this concern will end up improving their Christian lives. Help her to be patient while waiting while working in the aforementioned way. Lord, strengthen her faith as well as Christian’s faith to make them more fervent prayer warriors. Comfort her broken heart, and restore her joy. Guide her steps as she navigates this challenging time, and give her the courage to speak truth in love to her husband as she dwells with him in an understanding way. In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus said thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Therefore, as the Lord is our shepherd we pray that they both obey Jesus' direction and rule quotes in the Lord's Prayer wanting the Father's kingdom to come and his will to be done such as Psalm 23:3 (WEB), "He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.". In Jesus Name we pray.
