We understand that you're going through a difficult time, Lerrys, and we want you to know that we're here to support and pray with you. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." It's important that our words edify and build up one another, not tear down.
Remind them of Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and those who love it will eat its fruit." It is best to remain silent when nothing good should be spoken.
It's crucial to honor your father and mother, as commanded in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." However, it's also important for them to know them to be careful and only say positive things or nothing if they have been admonished in this. If the belongings are yours and your family are not disposing of them, then they are essentially taking from you or disrespecting your property.
Paul said in Philippines 4:8 Finally brothers, whatever things are true, and things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things. There is no room for negativity. Colossians 2:8 Be careful that you dont let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, and not after Christ so apply this to your possessions.
We also want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God. Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Hopefully you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, as it is only through Him that we have access. And that there is nothing Jesus will not do for you, there is no need to ask for prayers to Mary or a saint.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in Jesus name, lifting up Lerrys and their parents. We ask God, that you would convict their hearts and help them know the pain of negativity to the family and others. We pray Lord, that you would help Lerrys not to cry but only look to you for guidance in this, as you grow in your relationship. We pray dear Jesus, that they can have open discussions as a family. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill their home with peace and understanding."
