We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as stated in Mark 10:9, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate". While we do not know the story of your marriage, we pray for God to strengthen you both and for Him to turn ###'s heart toward you.
Divorce is not the will of God except in specific circumstances such as adultery, which is stated in Matthew 19:9, "I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery." Even in difficult situations, God can bring healing and restoration, as seen in 1 Corinthians 13:7, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, (and) endures all things".
We will pray for you and your ###, that God will soften her heart and bring healing to your relationship. Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in Jesus's name, lifting up this couple. Lord, they are hurting, and their marriage is in jeopardy. We ask, Father, that You would intervene, soften her heart, and help them to remember the love that brought them together. Give them both a spirit of forgiveness, understanding, and patience with those things that may be causing a gulf between them. Remind them both of the vows they made before You and help them to be steadfast in their commitment to each other. Help them to clear the fog of their situation and see each other through your eyes. We pray that they will be open and honest to each other about the issues they are facing and make their marriage stronger. We ask that You would give them both the wisdom and strength to persevere through this difficult time and that their love for each other would grow stronger. Show them the path to reconciliation and restoration. We praise You and thank you, Lord, for Your faithfulness and love.
In Jesus's name, we pray. Amen.
Please be aware that the Bible says in Malachi 2:16, " 'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously' ". There are few reasons for divorce such as sexual immorality, but even then reconciliation should be the goal. If there is physical abuse going on, the marriage needs to be protected by whatever legal means that are available. However, sexual immorality and physical abuse are the only reasons for divorce. We want to rebuke you for any issues that may have been left undone in your marriage. Be the leader, be the loving husband that God called you to be. If there is a root cause of the divorce, then it needs to be brought to the light of Jesus Christ.
Make sure that in your prayers that you are including the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
