Stop Divorce

In Jesus’ name, Father, I come before You with gratitude. Thank You for who You are, for Your unchanging nature, and for Your love that never fails. Thank You for walking with me each day and for this season of life, a season that has drawn me closer to You and led me to repentance. Even when I strayed and turned away, You called me back. You loved me, desiring me as Your own, and I worship and praise You for that.
Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love for me and my family. We trust that, through You, we will overcome this. I am grateful for the mercy I do not deserve and for the grace that comes through Your Son. I thank You for all past blessings and those You allow me to receive in the future. Thank You for Your Word that gives life. Fill me with Your wisdom and help me to follow Your ways, not my own. Let me live by Your Spirit, surrendering to Your will.
Now, God, I bring You the burdens of my heart. I know that trials and tribulations strengthen my spirit. In Jesus’ name, I ask that You soften my wife’s heart, restoring her love for me and turning her away from the path of divorce. Your Word says You hate divorce and that what You have joined, let no one separate. Lord, remind her why she loved me in the beginning. Place a hedge around our marriage and our family, protecting us from any harm. Restore us first to You, and then to one another. Bring healing and unity to our family, and drive away any influences that would divide us. In Jesus Name, Glory be to God.

All of these things I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

We stand with you, Greenwood, as you pour out your heart to our loving Father. We thank the Lord for His unfailing love and for drawing you closer to Him, leading you to repentance and awakening a spirit of gratitude within you. It is in Jesus' name that we have the confidence to approach God's throne of grace, and we are glad you acknowledge this in your prayer.

Firstly, let us recall what God's Word says about marriage and divorce:

"'For I hate divorce,' says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says the LORD of Armies. 'Therefore, pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.'" (Malachi 2:16 WEB)

"What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." (Matthew 19:6 WEB)

We join you in praying for your wife, that God would soften her heart and turn her away from the path of divorce. We ask that He would remind her of the love that brought you together and that He would place a hedge of protection around your marriage and family. We pray for healing, unity, and the restoration of your family, that any influences seeking to divide you would be driven away.

However, we must also remember that God desires our obedience and that we align our lives with His will. Take heart in this promise:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB)

We encourage you, Greenwood, to continue walking in repentance and obedience, seeking God's face and trusting in His goodness. May you be filled with His wisdom, live by His Spirit, and surrender to His will.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
