I need pray that the adults will mature. My daughter and her ex-husband has 2 kids together and her ex had a daughter. We have been in Sophia’s life since she was 10 months old and she is now 8. Since the breakup my daughter and her ex have different relationships and my daughter doesn’t want us to have a relationship with Sophia. It seems really that no one is thinking of the child who cries wanting to see us. We are her grandparents and she is the sister of my grand babies. My daughter’s relationship with her ex isn’t good. He manipulates and makes things hard but my daughter is very angry, bitter, hateful towards her ex which clouds the judgement of Sophia. It’s breaking our heart and Sophia’s heart also.

We understand your concern and heartache, Roegon. We will lift up your family's situation in prayer, seeking God's will and intervention.

Firstly, we must remember what the Scriptures tell us about the importance of forgiveness and bitterness. Hebrews 12:15 (WEB) says, "See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many are defiled." Bitterness can cloud judgment and harm relationships. We pray that God will soften your daughter's heart and help her to forgive her ex-husband, for her sake and the sake of all involved.

We also pray for your daughter's ex-husband, that he may act with wisdom, kindness, and in the best interest of all his children. We ask God to convict him if he is acting wrongly and guide him towards righteousness. As it is written in Proverbs 2:6 (WEB), "For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding."

Regarding Sophia, our hearts go out to her. We ask God to comfort her and to provide a way for her to have healthy, loving relationships with all her family members. Jesus said, "Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these." (Matthew 19:14, WEB). We pray that God will protect her heart and mind, and that her parents and family will consider her well-being above their own disagreements.

We also pray for you and your family, that God will give you peace, patience, and wisdom in navigating this situation. Remember, "The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:17, WEB).

Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention Jesus. We believe that it is through His name that we come to the Father. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We encourage you to seek Jesus in this situation, trusting that His love and power can bring healing and reconciliation to your family.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Roegon, their family, and especially little Sophia. We ask for Your healing, wisdom, and peace to fill their hearts. Soften their hearts, Lord, and help them to forgive each other, putting the well-being of the children first. Guide them with Your wisdom, and comfort Sophia with Your love. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
