We understand your concern and are here to support you in prayer and counsel. You have asked for protection from abusers and users, and for deliverance from any form of addiction. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we have access to God.
Firstly, we commend you for your stance against abuse and your recognition of the evils lurking in the world. As the Bible tells us, we must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). It is crucial to be discerning and vigilant, as there are indeed those who seek to harm others. Remember, the Bible advises us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them (Ephesians 5:11).
Regarding abuse, God does not intend for His children to endure such suffering. He wants us to live in freedom and peace. If you are currently in a situation where abuse is present, we strongly encourage you to seek help from local authorities, trusted friends, or a pastor. The Bible tells us to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21), and this does not include submitting to abuse. As we are all equal before the Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:28), no one has the right to abuse another.
Concerning addiction, we praise God that you have never been involved in drugs or alcohol and that you desire to remain sober. The Bible warns us not to get drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). We encourage you to continue in your sobriety and to be a light to those who are struggling.
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today, lifting up our concerns and petitions. We ask that You guide us and help us to steer clear of abusers and users. Give us the wisdom to discern the intentions of others and the strength to stand against any form of abuse. We pray for Your protection and intervention in our lives and for those who are currently suffering from abuse.
We also pray for all those who are struggling with addiction, that they would find the strength and support they need to overcome and live a life of sobriety. We ask that You would fill them with Your Spirit and help them to resist the temptations that come their way.
Lord, we thank You for the promise of Your presence and Your power in our lives. We ask all these things in Your precious name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue in your faith, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. It is by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that we have access to God the Father. Stand firm in your faith, and may the Lord bless you and keep you in His care.
