So a story is told about a troubled area deep in the South American jungle where militia-type groups had ran amok breeding destruction where ever they went. Their main target were Christians. The congregation along with the elders did not know what to do. Church attendance had dwindled considerably. Some parishioners didn't feel safe to attend church anymore.
One Sunday morning in a small modest church in a village nestled in the midst of the jungle, Christians were praising the Lord and singing joyfully. The church which usually house about a hundred had been scaled back by half but they were loud nevertheless.
Their music was suddenly disrupted by the unmistakable sound of automatic weapons. About 30 masked militiamen stormed in and commanded everyone to leave. People were reluctant but the intruders persisted with threatening gestures. About two thirds of the congregation fled. The militiamen were angry at the few remaining and shouted louder at them frightening more Christians away.
However the last ten Christians refuse to leave, praising God and praying unceasingly. Never capitulating.
The militia leader removed her mask nodding in agreement with a beautiful smile. We are parishioners from various villages who will not succumb to intimidation by the militia. We are looking for true prayer warriors to pray with us against our enemies. Now let's pray for our villages, let's pray for our brothers and sisters.
God is looking for a few good men and a few good women that will go the distance.
Many are called but few are willing to complete their mission.
Heavenly Father I pray that you strengthen our resolve to fulfill our great commission. Let no one stand in our way. Let us fight a good fight of faith!
Amen.
