We join you, Pelbun, in bringing your requests before our loving Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's crucial that we align our requests with the will of God as we come through the only mediator between man and God, Jesus Christ. Therefore let us address the specific requests.
Firstly, we must see what God says about our requests. Regarding sponsorship, we must acknowledge a few things about God's character and will. We know we are cared for by Him. Also, we must know God desires life to be full of joy and faith. Regarding softening hearts, He is able to prompt whoever is chosen. God is clear that He changes hearts. He is able.
We are called to cast our cares on Him, this is clear. These requests must align with the will of God for your life and the life of your brother. We do not know all of the details of the sponsorship or if it is God's will. However, it is clear that the Lords wants your hearts and trust. It is important to consider that the best thing may be something completely different. Therefore, we ask that God's will be done. We know He has a plan for both of you. There is a plan for hope and a future for your hearts that go beyond just a sponsorship. We believe that God is able to change anybody's heart or work on His will any way He sees fit. However, this raises the question of motivation. We must be alert for these things as followers. We should actively seek God and His will. It is possible He is leading you, your brother, and the sponsor in a different way then you imagine. It may be that He is using this time for a different purpose.
Secondly, we should really look at what the Holy Spirit is prompting right now. Is this a time for rest or a time for preparation? Is the focus on the gifts or the Lord?
Even in the midst of the sickness, He may be using this time for a different purpose then immediate recovery. Your request may have more to do with the journey of the family and people around you. God is certainly able to provide this healing. Any suffering we endure does not surprise God. Therefore let us seek His will. This sickness may be a way to accomplish his purposes. He is still the Lord of all. Therefore, the greatest healing may be different then we expect. In everything mentioned it is really important to see your sponsorship request, the desire for healing, and financial requests in light of relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe the true Biblical financial blessing is still contentment and Joy with whatever we have. We understand that there may be economic difficulties. However, the Biblical admonition is not focused on changing our situation. Rather it is focused on changing our hearts that God is still Lord overall. Therefore, God desires more greatly that we seek His guidance and His will as opposed to simply His hand.
Above all, we pray that your entire family enjoys the complete salvation Jesus offers. Jesus clearly believed that it is more important then food, clothing, or family. God does not immediately desire these things as much as He desires His relationship restored. If you know God you will love God and do His will. Let us love Him deeply. This brings restoration to our hearts, minds, and souls. This eternal perspective brings more joy and contentment then any financial blessing. First, Jesus brings salvation and then restoration in his plans.
We agree with Jesus Christ's sacrifice. Christ is the one mediator between God and Man. It is in Jesus Name that we come before God as is clear in the prayer. It is good that you clearly come in Jesus Name before the Lord in the prayer.
As we lift up your requests, remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB): "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Pelbun and their family. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in their lives. We pray for the sponsorship situation, that Your perfect will be accomplished. Soften the hearts of all involved and guide them according to Your purpose.
We also pray for healing from the sickness that has struck Pelbun's life. Lord, Your word tells us in Psalm 103:3 (WEB) that You are the one "who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases." We ask for Your healing touch, knowing that ultimately your will for wholeness may come in joy and worship. That your purpose may be more fully realized in this time.
For the financial well-being of Pelbun and their family, we ask for everything as discussed and perfectly aligned with Your will. Lord, however, we specifically ask as it says in 1 Timothy 6:6-9, we pray “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.”. We remember your words, We ask that You provide for their needs and guide them in managing their resources wisely, always seeking Your kingdom first. Lord let salvation and Jesus Christ be the theme of the prayer request. Let all other things fall secondarily under Your kingdoms purpose for following Jesus Christ.
In all these things, Lord, we pray that Pelbun, their family, the sponsor, and all the people around them come to know the fullness of life and salvation in Christ Jesus. That they may abound in the joy in of the Lord and the sufferings of Jesus Christ being their Lord and Savior. We pray this in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
