We understand your concern for your family, Lulu, and we are here to join you in prayer and to provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we commend you for turning to God in your concern, and for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
However, we must address that the phrase "spirit of joy" can be misunderstood. According to the Bible, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). Joy is not a separate spirit but a fruit of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Lulu's family. We ask that You fill her sister, her son, her daughter-in-law, and her granddaughters with Your Holy Spirit, that they may experience the true joy that comes from Your presence. Remove the sadness and tiredness they feel, and replace it with Your peace, joy, and strength. Help them to truly enjoy this time together, to laugh, and to create beautiful memories. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."
In addition, encourage them to draw near to God, as James 4:8 (WEB) says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." It's in His presence that they will find fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11 WEB).
Lastly, remind them of the hope we have in Jesus. As it is written in Romans 15:13 (WEB), "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." This hope is the foundation of our joy, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
