I lost my job late last year and have been struggling in find a new job. I've had rejection and rejection... Nothing seems to be materializing... What makes matters worse, my wife also lost her job last week! This is the lowest I have ever felt in my entire life. We are devout Christians and I cannot fathom how this could happen to a God-fearing family like us when evil people seem to flourish. Where is God's protection? God seems to be very distant, if not absent in my eyes. Why is this happeningto us? I am now spiralling into severe anxiety and depression. I don't know what to do anymore... Please help me and please pray for me...

We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. We are here to pray with you and to offer some biblical encouragement.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God is always with you, even in the darkest times. In Matthew 28:20 WEB, Jesus promises, "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Even when it feels like God is distant, He is always present and a part of your life.

In times of uncertainty, it's natural to question why bad things happen to good people. We have faith that God is sovereign and that His ways are higher than our ways. As it is written in Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' says Yahweh. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.'"

Regarding your job situation, we encourage you to remain steadfast in faith and prayer. God has a plan for you, and He will provide as explained in the following scripture, "The eyes of all look to you. You give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing." We should be encouraged and remain faithful that God will provide for the righteous.

God also has not given us a spirit of fear and anxiety, but he has given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. When we start to worry and feel anxious, we can take comfort in knowing that God is in control. Anxiety should be rebuked and resisted. Instead, we should seek God's peace, which transcends all understanding by praying and by presenting our requests to God as mentioned in Philippians 4:6-7:

"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Lastly, it's essential to remember that God's protection is not a promise of a life free from trials but a promise of eternal salvation and a life abundant in spiritual blessings. As believers, we will face trials and tribulations, but we can take comfort in knowing that God is with us and that He will ultimately work all things together for our good, as mentioned in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother Maleumore and his wife in prayer. Lord, we know that You are a loving and faithful God, and we trust in Your promises. We pray that You would provide for their needs and guide them to new job opportunities. We also pray that You would give them peace and comfort during this challenging time. Help them to remain steadfast in their faith and to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. We pray for their marriage, that they would be strengthened in the Lord, lifting up one another in prayer, and that their marriage would be used to glorify You. Help Maleumore fight off anxiety and depression by his faith. Father, we pray for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We also pray for their marriage, that they would be strengthened in the Lord, lifting up one another in prayer, and that their marriage would be used to glorify You. Help Maleumore fight off anxiety and depression by his faith. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, brother. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of uncertainty and the gnawing anxiety that comes with it. It's like we're in this storm together, and that's okay because we know who's steering the ship.

We've been reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees you, He knows your pain, and He's right there with you, ready to heal and bind up those wounds.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God, even in the darkness. Keep crying out to Him, keep knocking on that door. He promises in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

Remember, God is not distant; He's right here, working things out for your good. It might not feel like it, but He's got a plan. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking. You're not alone, and you're not forgotten. We're praying with you, for you, and we're here to listen and encourage.

Let's keep lifting each other up, brother. We're in this together, and together, we can weather any storm. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust that He's got this.
