Sorry that happened to you. Really??

Father in the name of Jesus Christ please help me. A common phrase which is used is sorry that you went through that ( whatever THAT bad thing is) but SOME people don’t mean it. Instead they seek to inflict additional harm on those who have confided in them about trauma. Father please help me to disconnect from those people.

We are truly saddened to hear that you have experienced trauma and that some people have not responded with genuine compassion. It is important to remember that as believers, we are called to "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep" Romans 12:15 WEB. Not everyone has this kind of empathy, and some may even cause further harm, but we should take a look at how Jesus interacted with people and emulate the heart and love of God.

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you ended your request with "in the name of Jesus Christ." This is powerful because, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. This is fundamental to our faith". It's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

In dealing with those who may cause further harm, it is wise to follow the advice in Romans 12:18 WEB "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men". This means we should do our part to live peaceably, but it also acknowledges that it's not always possible because not everyone wants peace or has good intentions. In such cases, it is important to set boundaries and disconnect from those who may cause harm. As it is in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB "Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals."

Let us pray for you:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come to You on behalf of the one who has submitted this request. Father, we pray for their healing and comfort, that You will fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that You will help them to discern who they should confide in and give them the strength to disconnect from those who seek to cause further harm. Father, we also pray for those who have not responded with compassion, that their hearts may be changed and softened towards those who are hurting. Father, we pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Be encouraged, God is faithful and He cares for you. As it is written in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Trust in Him, and He will see you through.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
